Albania has emerged from a communist state in 1991, and a completely isolated nation with no allies but China, to a parliamentary republic with several trading partners and currently pursuing a path of greater Euro-Atlantic integration. It is also becoming a desirable tourist location due to its pristine Mediterranean landscape. Learn about the many superstitious beliefs it traditionally holds. Also learn why more than one third of all Albanians live outside of Albania.
